finance BANK TO OPEN AT MASSAPONAX

Bank of America will hold the grand opening of its Cosner's Corner location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 7.

The event, open to the community, will be catered by Panera Bread and feature giveaways.

This is the third Bank of America to open in the Fredericksburg area. The other two are in Stafford Marketplace and Central Park.

The International Franchise Association yesterday recognized a Fredericksburg business owner as the 700th U.S. military veteran to acquire a franchised small business using financial incentives offered by its VetFran program.

Alan Martinez, a former Marine who purchased a Virginia Barbeque franchise, was recognized during the opening ceremony of the 16th annual IFA Expo in Washington.

Virginia Barbeque, founded by entrepreneur Rick Ivey, discounted $5,000 from Martinez's franchise fee.
