San Francisco's Birdmonster charged up the audience last week |

Another great show hit The Wounded Bookshop last Wednesday, with two new bands and an old favorite.
Opening was North Carolina's The Sammies, featuring an amazing drummer--who also supplied backing vocals--and catchy tunes. The songs were fun to dance to, and had copious amounts of feeling. You could tell just by watch-
Although The Sammies were a very good band in their own right, the band next took the crowd's excitement and stacked onto it.
Birdmonster. No word can really describe just how good this band is live. Some of the crowd even said "life-changing."
The San Francisco-based band has been on a nationwide tour that included a stop at Washington's Black Cat the night before. We were lucky enough to have them at the small Wounded Bookshop.
The band members could relax a bit from the professional standards of the big venues they usually play at. However, they still were professional at The Wounded Bookshop. Every member shook hands before they played, and they all mouthed the words to the songs they played.
Watching the bass player could keep you entertained for a whole night. The crowd never stopped jumping from the fast, fun indie-rock that Birdmonster pumped out.
Ending their gig with "Spaceman," a song that is somewhat interactive, was also a good touch. The crowd couldn't have been more happy with Birdmonster's performance.
Local band Rocky's Revival hit the stage last, and ended the night on a high note. Fans got up onstage and danced to the music, while the crowd moved to the music, as well.
With their amped-up electric music, and psychedelic guitar, they played a great show. They couldn't keep the crowd as pumped as Birdmonster did; however, Rocky's Revival left everyone happy and tired by the end of the night.
