Women's varsity eight takes first in Atlantic Regatta

The University of Mary Washington women's varsity rowing team took first place in the Atlantic Collegiate League Sprints Regatta in York, Pa., yesterday.

The varsity eight (Julie Milam, Kelley Tice, Stephanie Mercurio, Ellen Ostrow, Kadeana Langford, Natassya Bedos, Karolyn Milton, Dana Maas,and Jessie Faller-Parrett) finished first of six boats with a time of 7:00.2.

The women's second varsity eight finished second in its race at 7:48.11. The men's varsity four finished third with a time of 7:35.55. The women's varsity four and women's novice four each finished in fifth place.

UMW will compete at the Mid Atlantic Championships Regatta Saturday in Occoquan.
