continued La Dolce Vita customer Resa Braxton received a Butler Bag as a Mother's Day present from her daughter. A handbag aficionado, Braxton owns more than 40 bags that she changes with outfits. But her Hybrid Butler Bag is a keeper. "My goodness, I love it," she gushed. "I like the compartments because I can never find a bag like that." La Dolce Vita's owners say the secret to their success is that they're all avid fans of their product. "It's easy to sell something if you believe in it," said Dembo, who is the company's bookkeeper. Dembo already owns several Butler Bags. Her larger purse is a traveling general store that contains neatly packed items such as painkillers, makeup, pens, a nail file and even dental floss. "I am forever digging for stuff in my purse," Dembo said. "I can open this, I can see where everything is." "It forces you to be organized," added sales director Kara Grooms. "It's like having someone help you." Mary Dobson, another sales director, said she changed handbags from week to week "depending on my mood." But so far, she has stuck with her Butler Bag. "It was like one move," Dobson said. "That was a record for me. I didn't get tired of it." The Butler Bag's mass appeal is represented through La Dolce Vita's members. The women are of various age groups and diverse backgrounds. For example, Bridges is a Marine Corps veteran and Dembo is a former business teacher.
