Two roommates were arrested Wednesday after they resumed a fight--right in front of a Fredericksburg police officer.
According to city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe, an officer went to the 600 block of Forest Village about 8 p.m. in response to a report of a fight in progress.
When he arrived, one of the women had locked herself in a bathroom and the other was outside the door and highly agitated, police said.
A witness told police that the two women had been fighting all day and that the woman in the bathroom had just been sprayed with mace.
The woman in the bathroom initially refused to come out, but finally did so after the officer convinced her he was really a police officer.
As soon as she came out, Bledsoe said, the roommates immediately began arguing and hitting each other. The officer separated them and handcuffed both on separate sides of the room.
Enesha Davis, 24, and Octavia Herbert, 22, were both charged with assault and battery. Bledsoe said police were unable to determine which one started the altercation.
Herbert was the woman in the bathroom when police arrived, Bledsoe said.
