Town hall meeting about a possible post office in the Brooke area Date published: 8/28/2007
BY KAFIA HOSH Brooke area residents will have the chance to discuss bringing postal services closer to home. Aquia District Supervisor Paul Milde is holding a town hall meeting next week about the possibility of establishing a post office in the Brooke neighborhood. The U.S. Postal Service closed the Brooke Post Office in February of 2006. The Postal Service determined demographics and revenue did not meet the need for a full-service facility. Since then, rural carriers have sold stamps, and picked up and delivered mail. Brooke residents also are served by the Stafford Post Office on U.S. 1.
