Man stabbed outside city nightspot
Police brief
Date published: 11/14/2007

A man was stabbed and seriously injured outside a Fredericksburg nightspot late Saturday, police said.

City police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the owner of Mexico Lindo at 2030 Plank Road reported seeing three men chasing another man in the parking lot about 10 p.m.

The owner went to get his security guards to break up the disturbance. By that time, the three suspects were assaulting the victim, who was on the ground.

The guards chased the suspects, but lost sight of them in the area of Staples across the street.

The victim, a Fredericksburg resident, was taken to Mary Washington Hospital, where he underwent surgery for stab wounds to his arm and abdomen.

The investigation is continuing, Bledsoe said.
