‘Woodstock’ op-ed was an insult to veterans Date published: 11/14/2007
I find it incongruous that The Free Lance–Star would print an op–ed one day before Veterans Day (and on the Marine Corps birthday, no less!) that defames a military hero like John McCain and slanders not only our country’s military personnel, but our entire country [“Woodstockers were McCain’s moral betters,” Nov. 10]. You can’t have it both ways. Either America is a country to be proud of and worth defending with our very lives, or it should be allowed to be destroyed by left-wing liberals who believe nothing is worth dying for. Then, of course, we could proudly appropriate millions of dollars to construct a Woodstock Shrine to our hippy drug culture without having anyone object to such a noteworthy project.
