UVA tight end calls it the biggest game of the year. Date published: 11/23/2007 CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The University of Virginia is trying to treat tomorrow's game against Virginia Tech like any other. But tight end Tom Santi admits it's the biggest game of the year. Some might wonder if the team has extra motivation because the Hokies have won three in a row in the series, and seven of the last eight, and because only the winner moves on to play Boston College for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and a BCS bowl berth. But coach Al Groh says the team can't think about all that. The Hokies are taking a different approach and even celebrating the possibility that after dominating the series in recent years, Virginia is improved. Hokies linebacker Vince Hall says there's no point in having a rivalry if one team's doing all the winning.
