Vote today to fill 1st District Congressional seat
Date published: 12/11/2007
TODAY residents of the 1st Congressional District have the opportunity to fill the House of Representatives seat left vacant by the death of Rep. Jo Ann Davis in October.
The Free Lance-Star has endorsed Republican Rob Wittman, a resident of Westmoreland County, in this race. He has served his community well, first on the Montross Town Council, then on the Westmoreland Board of Supervisors, and lately in the House of Delegates, representing the 99th District.
The winner of this special election will have to run again next November. In the meantime, Mr. Wittman's steady, longtime service at the state and local levels makes him worthy of a posting to Capitol Hill.
The 1st Congressional District stretches from southern Fauquier County down to the Tidewater area. If you live in the district, take time to vote today.

You conveniently forgot to mention the Presidential election of 2000, when republicans chose George W. Bush, the draft dodger, over Al Gore, the Vietnam war veteran. You also left out the election of 2004, when republicans again supported draft dodger Bush, and relished in the false "swift boat" attacks against decorated Vietnam war veteran John Kerry.

All of a sudden the libs, who embraced Bill Clinton, the draft dodger, over Bob Dole, are interested in decorated war veterans. What hypocrites. Forget Forgit.
Ignore the FLS...

After all, the FLS supported Bush and George Allen. Vote for Forgit, the decorated Iraq War veteran with reasonable positions.
