A Fredericksburg woman was arrested this week on charges that she provided alcohol to three teenage girls and drugging and sexually molesting one of them.

Lena Wright, 28, is charged with aggravated sexual battery and three counts of contributing to the del- inquency of a minor, city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said. Wright was also served with an unrelated warrant charging her with violating a protective order.

According to Bledsoe, the James Monroe High School students regularly walked from school to Wright's nearby home in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue. Wright is a friend of one of the girl's parents.

The incident that led to the charges occurred sometime in the past eight weeks, Bledsoe said, but the girls, ages 15 and 16, could not pinpoint a date. According to the complaint, the girls spent the night at the home and Wright provided them with alcohol.

The girl who police said was sexually assaulted was also given a tablet that rendered her unconscious, according to police. Bledsoe said police don't know what the tablet was, but the girl reported that she woke up naked and her friends told her they'd seen Wright removing her clothes and sexually assaulting her. They told her they were afraid to intervene, Bledsoe said.

The incident didn't come to the attention of city police until Dec. 9, when the victim told her parents what had happened. The parents immediately called police and an investigation began. The victim is not the teen whose family has connections with Wright.

Bledsoe said the girls told police that while it was not unusual for them to stop by Wright's house after school, this was the first time she had given them alcohol.

The unrelated protective order violation against Wright stems from her arrest last month on charges of domestic assault and battery against her husband, Bledsoe said. Police said she twice violated a court order by making contact with her husband, the last time on Dec. 3.

Wright is being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
