Army officer charged with soliciting young boy for oral sex Date published: 1/17/2008
BY ELLEN BILTZ
An Army military policeman was arrested Tuesday on charges of el electronic solicitation and attempted sodomy. David Michael Overstreet, 33, was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, awaiting deployment to Iraq when a Spotsylvania County detective's investigation led to his arrest, said 1st Sgt. Liz Scott of the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office. A 16-year-old Spotsylvania boy and his mother told police last month that an Army police officer by the name of David had been contacting the boy and asked him for oral sex in exchange for money, Scott said. She said after Spotsylvania police were told about the contact, which happened over MySpace, they got search warrants and seized computers from Overstreet's Prince George's County, Md., home. Overstreet was arrested soon after in Texas and is being held at an El Paso jail while awaiting an extradition hearing to be transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, Scott said. She said police are still continuing to investigate whether there are additional victims. Ellen Biltz: 540/374-5424Email: ebiltz@freelancestar.com
If military officers are supposed to have such higher levels of moral responsibility, then why is it that the vast majority of Medal of Honor recipients are enlisted? This whole debate is stupid.
The point is an officer is usually educated to a greater extent. Officers are picked for their higher moral standards and feelings of responsibility for their men and humanity in general. I would doubt there are as many offenders of this type that are officers versus enlisted men.
Who cares if he's enlisted or officer, he's still sick.
And trust me there are just as many officer pedophiles as there are enlisted.
He's a Staff Sergeant, also known as a Senior Non Comp. Non Comp is short for Non Commissioned, which is short for Non Commissioned Officer, which is a type of Officer in the Army. He is an enlisted NCO.
This guy WAS NOT AN OFFICER, he was an enlisted Military Police Soldier.
