A charge against a woman accused of drugging and molesting a teenage girl has been sent to a Fredericksburg grand jury.

Lena Wright, 28, of Fredericksburg is charged with aggravated sexual battery. She waived a scheduled preliminary hearing yesterday in Fredericksburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Prosecutor LaBravia Jenkins dropped three related charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

But Jenkins is likely to reinstate the charges in Circuit Court.

Wright was arrested in December after the parents of a James Monroe High School student complained to police.

According to city police, three James Monroe students regularly walked from school to Wright's nearby home in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue.

Wright was a friend of one of the girl's parents.

The incident that led to the charges occurred sometime a number of weeks before it was reported.

The girls, ages 15 and 16, spent the night at the home and Wright provided them with alcohol, according to the complaint.

The girl who police said was sexually assaulted was also given a tablet that left her unconscious. The girl reported that she woke up naked and her friends told her they'd seen Wright removing her clothes and sexually assaulting her.

The girl was not the one whose family was associated with Wright.

Wright is still being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
