Beth A. Burns

Our loving wife, mother and daughter, Beth Ann Burns, 38, went to be with God on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008.

Beth was born Jan. 26, 1970, at Fort Devens, Mass., and moved to Virginia in 1979. After residing in Woodbridge and Dale City, she moved to Spotsylvania County in 1983.

Beth graduated from Courtland High School in 1988, where she met her loving husband, Warren. After both graduated from Old Dominion University, they married in September 1994.

She leaves behind her husband, Jonathan Warren Burns; darling twin girls, Kaitlyn and Grace; her mother, Marilyn McGowan, and sister, Kathleen McGowan of Spotsylvania; her mother-in-law, Cynthia Burns, and her father-in-law, Gordon Burns of Fredericksburg; and sister-in-law, Heather Birch and her family of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McGowan; a sister, Ann Handy; and a nephew, Keenan McGowan. Beth will be remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. She had many friends and was loved by all.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at St. George's Episcopal Church, led by the Rev. Gay M. Rahn. Entombment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 1902 Plank Road, Fredericksburg. A reception will follow at the Burns residence, 3707 Carlyle Court, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
