Healthcare Workers from the former Soviet Union Visit LifeCare Date published: 3/4/2008
LifeCare Medical Transports Inc., headquartered in Stafford County, recently hosted 20 senior-level health care executives from the former Soviet Union. The visit by these professionals was part of the International Trade Administration Program for 2008 sponsored by the United States Department of Commerce. This month-long training program offers a valuable opportunity for United States organizations in the medical industry to meet and share their experiences with their colleagues from the emerging economic regions of Europe and Asia and establishes a means of contacts for future cooperation. LifeCare President Kevin Dillard and Vice President Danny Wildman along with the assistance of their staff, used a combination of presentations, tours and Q&A to introduce the participants to the way in which emergency medical service in the United States is provided. The participants are visiting American companies to seek ways of improving upon their hospital administration techniques, getting information on rural emergency medical services and its challenges, funding, training, management and structure. Representatives participating in the program come from Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), Western Eurasia (Moldova, Ukraine) and the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). These delegates were chosen by the United States Department of Commerce because of their strong desire to improve their health care systems.
