George E. Smith
Deacon George E. Smith, 88, of King George County died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Lindora Smith; four sons, Vernis Beverly of Norfolk, Alfred Smith of Clinton, Md., Floyd Smith of Orange County and Ledrow Smith of Laurel, Miss.; three daughters, June Smith of Dahlgren, Corlette Bumbrey of Fredericksburg and Rita Smith of Greenbelt, Md.; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at noon Tuesday, April 1, at Little Ark Baptist Church, King George with the Rev. Ben Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, March 31, at the funeral home and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal.
