Congressman tours military outpost Date published: 4/23/2008 By Rusty Dennen Rep. Rob Wittman, the freshman 1st District Republican congressman, toured Fort A.P. Hill yesterday. Wittman and three staff members were briefed by Base Commander Lt. Col. Michael Graese, and given a bus ride around the 76,000-acre Caroline County Army post. "I spent many hours hunting here years ago. It's a great facility," Wittman said. A.P. Hill is one of the Army's premier training sites. Wittman, a former Virginia delegate, won a special election last December to fill the seat of the late Rep. Jo Ann Davis, who died last fall of breast cancer. --Rusty Dennen
