Mountain View's Ashley Cummings had eight strikeouts in a 2-0 softball no-hitter against Stafford last night.

Heather Hartman and Blair Hodges scored runs for Mountain View. Hartman and Devon Ward were each 2-for-3 and Ashley Cook was 2-for-2.

Mountain View (3-2, 3-0) plays at Massaponax tonight.

North Stafford 7, Gar-Field 4

Alyssa Hara had two hits, two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI as North Stafford earned a nondistrict win.

Tiffany Merrill earned the win for the Wolverines. Nikki Black drove in two runs.

North Stafford (9-1, 4-0) returns to district play tonight against Brooke Point.

Hannah Sisson struck out 13 in a no-hitter against James Monroe yesterday.

Sisson was 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Amanda Jenkins drove in a run and scored a run and Markie Pitts was 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

W&L (7-0) opens Northern Neck District play with a trip to Essex on Tuesday.

Courtland 1, Massaponax 0

Freshman David Salazar scored from 25 yards out midway through the second half and the visiting Courtland defense made the lead stand up for a nondistrict win last night.

Joe O'Connell assisted the goal and goalie James Moore registered seven saves for the Cougars (4-1-1), who travel to King George on Tuesday.

W&L 2, Mathews 0

Quinton Scott scored in the first half and Justin Hobbs in the second to lead Washington & Lee past Mathews.

Thomas Ramirez and Isivro Alvarez had assists. Goalie Zach Sudduth made nine saves for his second shutout of the season for the Eagles (4-3), who open Northern Neck District play at Essex on Tuesday.

Mountain View 5, Stafford 3

Ryan Sypress and Rob Medairos had overtime goals to give Mountain View (4-1-1, 3-1) a district win.

The Wildcats led 3-0 after first-half goals from Collin Hill, Matt Epperly, K.J. Rowe. But Stafford got scores by Nate Foglesong, Julio Torres and Jeff Roles to tie the game.

Mountain View plays at Massaponax tonight.

GIRLS SOCCER

Colonial Forge 4, Stafford 1

Torri Allen scored twice to help visiting Colonial Forge remain unbeaten with a Commonwealth District win last night.

Chelsea Menser added a goal and an assist for the Eagles. Kate Lawlor also scored, while Caitlin Hickey provided an assist.

Allison Brady scored with an assist from Catherine Whited for the Indians (1-3-1, 0-3-1), who visit Riverbend on Tuesday.
