Alma J. Banks

Alma Jean Banks, 74, of Stafford County died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Banks had worked as a supervisor at the commissary at Quantico Marine Corps Base. She was a member of Moose Lodge 1655, Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club and the Stafford Rescue Squad.

Survivors include her children, Steven A. Banks and his wife, Dona, and Gregory L. Banks and his wife, Pam, all of Falmouth, Rolanda B. "Lana" Coghill and her husband, Kenneth R., of Port Royal, Belinda Pearl Howard and her husband, Buddy, of Atlantic, and Michael Tracy Banks and his wife, Retta, of Stafford; a brother, Edward R. Stapleton of Stafford; a sister, Lorene LePage of Palm Harbor, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, Steven Banks Jr., Vicky Pritchard, Chris Cox, Jeremy Mills, Ashton Banks, Angela Fortune, Reece Banks, Taft Banks, Rebecca Buccino, Kenneth Coghill, Patrick Coghill, Michelle Howard, Sarah Howard, Michael Lee Banks, Kody Eli Banks and Cheyenne Lewis; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the funeral home.
