Stranded, overheated, helped, and grateful
We want to thank a very kind couple for something they did not have to do, but did. On June 14, my husband and I were in downtown Fredericksburg. We wanted to ride the horse-drawn carriage. During the ride, something on the carriage broke. We were stranded on the road, blocking the street next to the Gen. Hugh Mercer monument. A very kind couple who lived right where we broke down offered us a ride back to the Visitor Center and to our vehicle. I wish I had asked their names, but because of the heat I was not feeling well, so I was not thinking clearly. A big "thank you" goes out to them; they did not have to offer us a ride. Nor would they accept anything but a hug and a "thank you" as we arrived back at the Visitor Center. Fredericksburg has some Jolynn and Steven Richardson Spotsylvania
