I see Barack Obama convened an "advisory" panel filled with former Clinton administration officials and Iraq war critics.
Apparently, the big news is that Republicans faulted Sen. Obama for choosing a coterie of advisers who opposed and predicted failure of the counterinsurgency troop surge strategy in Iraq last year that produced military successes and reduced the amount of terrorist violence in the country.
I don't think that's the case. I think the big news is that the radical Islamic terrorists must be, no doubt, totally stunned and beside themselves with 72 virgins worth of heavenly bliss at their good fortune--and they haven't had to lift a finger or even burn one of their new female suicide bombers to bring this event about!
Sen. Obama has managed to reassemble a Who's Who in the Democratic Party of virtually all of the "guilty parties" from the Clinton administration--except for Slick Willie himself--who were indirectly responsible for Sept. 11.
These are the people who advocated "turning the other cheek," treating the terrorists' acts of war in the 1990s as merely "criminal" acts. They championed diplomacy and "talking to the enemy without pre-conditions."
This is "change"? I don't think so. This is back to a future we can't afford. This is taking America to a place we need not go again.
We have been there, done that. Way too many great Americans have paid in blood or treasure--on Sept. 11 and in Iraq and Afghanistan--for the elitist and naive theories of Obama and these Clintonistas.
Bin Laden must be truly stunned that we are doing all of this to ourselves.
