TRAINER, dog STILL ALIVE ON TV SHOW

Stafford County dog trainer Laurie Williams and her Maltese Andrew remain in the running to win the "Greatest American Dog" contest.

Williams, who owns and operates Pup 'N Iron in Stafford, was one of 12 finalists chosen from nearly 500 applicants to take part in the 10-week CBS reality show. Williams and Andrew survived last night's inaugural show.

The show will air at 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Sept. 11.
