Coy E. Robinette, 89, of Colonial Beach died at his home Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008.
Mr. Robinette retired after 37 years from Armco Steel Corp. in Montcoal, W.Va.
He was a 70-year member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church and the Colonial Beach Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Clara E. Robinette; two children, Mary Mendenhall and her husband, V. Dale, of Colonial Beach, and Thomas E. Robinette of Colonial Beach; six grandchildren, Thomas E. Robinette II, Woody J. Perry, April S. Robinette, Anna Madison, Sherie L. Bernier and Russell A. Mendenhall; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dale Wesley Mendenhall.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Beth-Marie R. Helmbrecht officiating. Burial will be in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach.
