A Stafford man was jailed Saturday after he exposed himself to three children, police said.

Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said the man later exposed himself and bared his buttocks to two men who came to his home to discuss the incident involving the children.

Kennedy said the incident began about 8 p.m. in the area of Foxwood Drive and Dottie Lane in the Foxwood Village Mobile Home Park in North Stafford.

Three children, ages 11, 9 and 7, told their mother that the 58-year-old suspect had dropped his pants and showed them his private parts.

Two men in the children's home went to confront the suspect, Kennedy said.

When the suspect answered a knock on his front door, the suspect dropped his pants and exposed his rear and front areas to the complainers.

Deputy William Johnson saw the disturbance at the suspect's home and intervened.

He repeatedly asked the suspect to come outside to discuss the situation, Kennedy said. When the suspect finally complied, he took an "aggressive stance" toward the deputy and began cursing at him loudly.

Donald Abel was charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $6,500 bond.
