Police find man at girlfriend's home

Courtland McBeth's escape didn't last long.

McBeth, 24, was arrested without incident in King George yesterday at the home of his new girlfriend, Fredericksburg police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said.

McBeth had eluded city police Wednesday after a woman tipped police off that he'd just left Heritage Park.

A city officer followed him to the off-ramp leading from U.S. 1 south to State Route 3 west. He got out of the car and ran, and police were unable to find him, police said.

McBeth was wanted in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, King George and Prince William on charges that include drugs, failing to pay child support and failing to appear in court.

Bledsoe said city police became aware of the new girlfriend and asked King George deputies to go to the house yesterday.

Bledsoe added that McBeth is missing a hand, not an arm as police previously reported.
