Orange cycle crash kills Stafford man

A Stafford County man died Sunday afternoon about an hour after crashing the motorcycle he was driving in Orange County.

Luis A. Villarreal, 23, was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle on State Route 231 when he ran off the right side of the road in a curve and hit a tree about 12:55 p.m., said state police Sgt. F.L. Tyler.

Villarreal was taken to U.Va. Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 2 p.m., the state police spokesman said.

The roads were dry when Villarreal crashed less than a mile from State Route 679. He was wearing a helmet, Tyler said.

Tyler said speed is suspected to have been a factor in the crash, which is being investigated by Trooper S.T. Melson.

Pair of thieves hits Stafford home

A Stafford resident pulled into her driveway yesterday just after two men apparently had broken into her home, police said.

Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said the woman arrived in the 1700 block of Courthouse Road at 9:39 a.m. and found a large truck in the driveway occupied by two men.

She blew her horn at the truck, Kennedy said, and the driver went around her and left the area.

She later found that her home had been entered and some items were taken.

The suspects were described as two large black men wearing dark clothing. They were in a red or maroon newer model pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 658-4400 or Crime Solvers at 659-2020.

More than a dozen vehicles robbed

Items were stolen from at least 17 vehicles in two Stafford subdivisions late Thursday or early Friday, police said.

Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said the thefts occurred in the Greenridge and Summerwood subdivisions. Wallets, radio systems, GPS systems and other items were taken from unlocked vehicles.

How would you prefer the witness to describe the men? Would portly or fat be better? Since none of us were there, we have to rely on the witness for the suspect desription.

My guess she described the two robbers as LARGE because they LOOKED large to her. How in the world did you get to BIGOTED from this report? Also do you think that LARGE men only come in black? Are you a large black man? My guess you will find the Bigot if you look in the Mirror ! ( signed a Large white man )

Would you like the Homeowner and Reporter (posted by Jazzercisemom , Nov. 18, 2008 9:25 am)    0 likes
to say the two men were SMALL? Then police/citizens would be looking for the wrong body type.....get with it...choose your battles properly....If you were robbed by a LARGE man...would you rather the police look for a SMALL man/woman?

are obviously bigoted for describing the suspects as "large".
