Second Amendment guarantees other nine
After reading Joe Sucha's Jan. 29 letter regarding the "certain loss of Second Amendment rights," I felt compelled to clarify a very important aspect of each of the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights ["Kidnapping is OK, but gun ownership is not!"]. Each was described by the Founders as "unalienable," which is to say we are born with them. Our governments are in place, primarily, to ensure the protection of those rights. If a state or federal government ceases to guarantee the protection of any of those rights, it has become illegitimate insofar as being in compliance with lawful parameters and intent set forth by the Founders, and has become rogue. There are more than 100 million gun owners in this country. If only 10 percent of them happen to be determined patriots, the rogue government and its agents should be ventilated and defused rather quickly. The alternative is slavery in an Orwellian nightmare. The Second Amendment was set down mainly to give teeth to the rest. That is not an opinion. It is a fact of history. Charles Stinnett Culpeper
There are about 80 million gunowners in the US. If only 5% turn to militias, that is 4 million armed people to contend with. That is not insignificant.
Short term (initial response) militias would probably be the hardest to organize effectively. Long term guerilla militias would have the time to organize as cohesive units, thereby being more effective. The core of the militias would mostly be experienced veterans. I can’t think of a worse scenario than going after an experienced warrior in his own backyard that he has prepared to welcome you. Couple that with a reluctant regular army, spread thin, and yes the militias have a very good chance.
That's OK. I'm sure there is plenty we do agree on. I wish you
happiness, health, peace and love.
Every veteran of the nation took an oath to uphold the Constitution. If the government goes rogue and uses the armed forces in an unconstitutional way, do you really think that:1) Most of the armed forces will obey unconstitutional orders and attack US citizens and 2) will the veterans and citizens allow the armed forces to be used to subjugate the People? I don’t believe that the American armed forces would stand for it.
Please, don't just throw my words back in my face and I
don't want 1800's rhetoric. Seriously, do you think for a
second, that a group in this country could form a long-term
militia and defy the state and federal governments? (I don't.
They are BIG. Very,VERY BIG.)
