Road work planned on northbound I-95
Taking a drive on Interstate 95 north tonight, or early tomorrow morning?
Two of I-95's three northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Tuesday morning near Lorton, Exit 163.
Virginia Department of Transportation workers are erecting steel beams for a new bridge over Pohick Creek. Traffic may be stopped on I-95 for brief periods.
Drivers can bypass the work zone in High Occupancy Vehicle lanes.
The new bridge is part of the project to widen I-95 to four lanes from State Route 123 in Occoquan to the Fairfax County Parkway. The 6-mile widening project will be finished in fall 2011.
