March 21: Park Ridge 5K, 8 a.m. at Park Ridge Elementary School in Stafford. Cost: $25 ($30 on race day). Also, a 1-mile fun run ($10) at 9 a.m. Register online at racetimingunlimited.org. March 24: University of Mary Washington Kids Kick for Books Clinic:, 9-10:30 a.m. at the Campus Recreation Field (Turf Field) adjacent to the UMW Parking Deck off Route 1. Open to ages 5-10. Focus on individual technical skills. Fee: one or more new or "lightly used" children's books (for ages 5-10) which will be donated to chairty. Bring your own ball (no cleats allowed). Limited to 75. Pre-registration required by March 24 at 540/654-1871 or March 29: YMCA Indoor Triathlon, 8 a.m. at the Rappahannock Area YMCA. Options: sprint distance triathlon (750 meter pool swim/12 mile bike/3 mile run) or an Olympic distance triathlon (1,500 meter pool swim/24 mile bike/6 mile run).
