FROM STAFF REPORTS Brook Point's charge in the Group AAA lacrosse playoffs came to an abrupt end Saturday when the eighth-seed Black-Hawks were handcuffed by top-seed Langley, losing the quarterfinal 14-4 on the Saxons' home field. Ryan Ningard paced Langley with five goals and two assists. Brooke Point got goals from John Daughtrey, Allen Jones, Paul Hummer and Seth Hodgen. Rob Spelman recorded an assist. Starting goaltender Mark Wilander had a rough afternoon, but Black-Hawk coach Mike Seymour cited the Saxons' relentless attack as the reason for the lopsided score. "It's tough to move the ball around because they put so much pressure on our defense," he said. "It reeks havoc on our offense." Despite the loss, Brooke Point (14-7, 7-3) had an impressive run to reach the state playoffs and should be stronger in 2010. The team loses only three seniors. "They set the bar high already," Seymour said of his players' playoff expectations. "They're going to have to fulfill it next year."
