Former Stafford County supervisor Gary Snellings defeated Tim Dwight Tuesday in the Hartwood District's Republican primary for the Stafford County Board of Supervisors.
Snellings will challenge incumbent Joe Brito in November during the general election for the Hartwood seat on the Board of Supervisors. The last time these two met in an election, Snellings lost by 36 votes in 2005.
Snellings served on the board from 2002 to 2005.
Snellings won the Simpson and Hartwood districts, as well as the absentee vote.
