Alfred F. Spurlock
Alfred F. Spurlock Sr., 85, of Aylett went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Survivors include four children, Rosa F. Brooks and her husband, Douglas, Alfred Spurlock Jr. and his wife, Barbara, Douglas Spurlock, and Dolores Brooks and her husband, George; his sister, Ida Johnson; his aunt, Maxcine Hill; sister-in-law Rosa L. Spurlock; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Highway, Ashland, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Mangohick Baptist Church, Aylett. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
