Army National Guard Pfc. Robert A. Mathis graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Larry and Sheila Kendrick of Spotsylvania County and is a 2004 Fauquier High School graduate.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Gustavo A. Reina has returned to the U.S. after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His wife, Ruth, is the daughter of Juan Francisco Pino of Puerto Rico, and Maria Machado of Fredericksburg.

Army Pvt. Christopher J. Morgan graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Timmy Morgan of Fredericksburg and Sandra Smelley of Midlothian, and is a 2001 Chancellor High School graduate.

Amy Pvt. Jordan Duquette graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Deborah Lasch of Fredericksburg, and is a 2007 graduate of Chancellor High School.

Army Capt. Eric J. Wright has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in East Lansing, Mich. A company commander with five years of military service, he is the son of Rosalind and Steven Wright of Fredericksburg and is a 1993 graduate of Courtland High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Daniel L. Stewart has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Nathanna and Terry Stewart of Spotsylvania and is a 2008 graduate of Spotsylvania High School.
