Peyton Bartlett received an Honorable Mention in the 2009 National EMS Week Children's Art Contest sponsored by the Rappahannock EMS Council and participating agencies.

All students who completed the 2008-2009 year are invited to participate in the summer reading-incentive program: Explore the World--Open a Book. Call the school to reserve your spot for the reward pizza parties on July 16 and 30.

Kindergarten Summer Kickoff sessions are Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call or drop by the school to sign up.

The Back-to-School Block Party at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre is Aug. 9, 4-8 p.m. Tickets cost $10 per family. There will be special shopping discounts and hours, performances, a parade and raffles. Proceeds benefit the PTO and the Spotsylvania Education Foundation. Until Aug. 10, building hours are 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
