Norman Burwell Jr.
Norman Burwell Jr., 78, of Ellenton, Fla., formerly of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Bradenton, Fla. Born June 28, 1930, near Sullivan, Ill., to the late Norman and Grace Winchester Burwell Sr., he married Darlene Dinwiddie on Dec. 29, 1951, in Bethany, Ill. He worked in the fertilizer business and retired in 1994 from Lebanon Agricorp. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, VFW and F.O.E. Aerie 4123. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Brickler (James) and Becky Stephens (Richard); his son, Charles Burwell (Sandra); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held in Bethany at a later date.
