'HE CHANGED THE MUSIC WORLD IRREVOCABLY'
Locals react to Michael Jackson's death
Date published: 6/27/2009

"He is the most creative person of this generation and needs to be memorialized as such. When eulogized, especially by the press, I pray his many talents will outshine his difficulties in life. May the pundits and paparazzi leave him alone. May he rest in peace."

--Gaye Adegbalola, performer with Saffire--The Uppity Blues Women

"Michael Jackson was wildly, sometimes threateningly, eccentric. But he changed the music world irrevocably, and after the recent election of our president, Jackson's anthem, 'Black or White,' seems even more meaningful. We will probably never stop talking about him."

--Cheryl Huff, assistant professor, Germanna Community College

"I was always saddened at the path his life took in the passing years with all the allegations that were out there. He never seemed happy and took an odd path with his looks and appearance. I choose to remember the sheer genius in his music and the energy in his performances. For that alone, he is legendary."

--Shelley Jordan, local fan

The House of Representatives have just passed the largest tax increase in U S history without reading it (because there is nothing to read-they failed to get it written up in their haste to pass it. But the editors at the FLS could care less that readers know about this. It is sooooooo unimportant compared to Michael Jackson. And besides, if the paper keeps locals ignorant, it may translate into another win for the Democrats. So much for an appropriate mission, guys. Cheers.

If you see his cardiologist - call 911 (posted by MrZorro , June 27, 2009 4:16 pm)    0 likes
You don't have to be a medical genius to know that deadly painkillers are not recommended for heart problems. His doctor is probably in Arruba now, sipping a Tequila Sunrise on the beach. He might be charged with murder, if the police find him.

"An odd path"? I'm giving Shelley the understatement of the day award.
