Robert Lee Dodd, 66, of Stafford County died Sunday, July 19, 2009.
Mr. Dodd was the owner of DLR Contracting, Inc. Born in Alexandria, he was a graduate of George Washington High School.
Bob was a great sports fan and loved golfing with his friends. He enjoyed traveling, especially ocean cruises.
Bob's family was his world. His greatest joys were watching his grandsons play sports.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Dodd; his children, Robert L. Dodd Jr. and his wife, Melissa, and Robin L. Hughart and her husband, Kevin; his mother, Alice Benarick; his half-brother, Randall Benarick; and his grandchildren, Alec and Ethan Hughart, and Keith, Kyle and Kurtis Dodd. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Ann Dodd.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 1310 Courthouse Road, Stafford. Pallbearers will be Brian Madison, Craig Bourne, Ron Conn, Randy McNulty, Rodney Miller, John Brookman and Jim Wilson. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the funeral home.
