Audrey Tweedy
The welcoming voice of our heavenly Father called to rest our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Mrs. Audrey Lee Johnson Tweedy of Fredericksburg. She entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 18, 2009, following a vehicle accident. She was born Oct. 13, 1970, in Lynchburg, the daughter of Mrs. Irene F. Johnson of Lynchburg and the late Ordia Lee Johnson. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Terry W. Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church of South Lynchburg, and later, after marriage and relocation to the Fredericksburg area, became a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in the hospitality ministry. She was dearly loved by family, friends and neighbors, and she was known for her cheerful spirit and willingness to care for and help others. In addition to her mother, Audrey is survived by her husband, Aaron Lee Tweedy; her two sons, Aqil M. Tweedy and Ahmad J. Tweedy; her daughter Asya A. Tweedy; four brothers, Ordia L. Johnson Jr. and wife Burnadette of Baltimore, Md., Leon Johnson and wife Karen of Medical Lake, Wash., and Bruce Johnson and Otis Johnson, both of Lynchburg; and seven sisters, Diane Webb and husband Cy of Evans, Ga., Sandra Johnson and husband Stanley of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Katrina Mabry and husband Quentin of Stafford County, Angela Glass and husband Charles of Rustburg, Ornetta Sales and husband Marco, Kay Revely and husband Rick, and Jessica Poindexter and husband Andre, all of Lynchburg, She also is survived by her mother-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Foster of Lynchburg; brother-in-law, Tracy Tweedy of Lynchburg; father-in-law, Mr. Alfred Tweedy of Boston; a close niece, Miss Alyson Mabry; a dear friend, Mrs. Brenda Wallace of Stafford; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Crossroads Baptist Church, Evington. Interment will be in the Jones-Tweedy family cemetery, Rustburg. Her remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home of her mother at 2005 Globe St., Lynchburg.
