Cornelia Mundy

Cornelia Charlotte Mundy, 70, known as "Aunt Connie" to many folks, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jeanette Mundy; one sister, Lena Errico and one nephew, Charles M. Mundy.

Born Oct. 14, 1938, in New York City, she moved to King George County and attended Mary Washington College, graduating with a degree in mathematics. She worked many years at the Naval Weapons Laboratory in Dahlgren (now known as the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division). She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in King George.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Charles B. Mundy and wife Elsie; her nieces and nephews Cindy Mundy and husband David Cochran, Christine Mundy and husband Donald Combs, Claude Mundy and fiancee Patricia Vickers, Cary Mundy and lifelong companion Greg Kelley, Michelle Mundy and husband Charles M. Mundy, Frank Errico and wife Jenny, and Tina Errico. She is also survived by her beloved dog Angel.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, 11089 James Madison Parkway (U.S. 301), King George, with the Rev. Michael D. Finn-McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Miss Mundy, an animal lover, requested that all contributions be made, in her name, to the Fredericksburg Regional SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408.
