Paul Milde is a fraud. Why does nobody else see it?
I am glad that at least part of Crow's Nest has been preserved. But considering what the county paid, it should all have been acquired.
All Paul Milde has done is ensure that the developer got top dollar for his property.
The developer is charging all of us peak market rates to purchase this property.
I am sure that if the property were assessed now, it would, like most of the land in our area, be worth at least 25 percent to 50 percent less.
By threatening to develop this land, the developer was able to demand top dollar; and with the market down, there has been no renegotiation.
I have felt all along that this was somewhat by design.
Paul Milde has been horrible for our county. He has tipped the balance severely away from schools, services, and revenue to deliver as much as he can to his constituents, the developers.
Kandy Hilliard may have screwed up politically by going after the "Virginia Barbeque Pig," but we've all paid a heavy price (especially the price tag for Crow's Nest) for electing Paul Milde.
We won't get the rest of Crow's Nest unless we once again chip in at peak market prices to purchase it. Gee, thanks.
