Carol Ann Martin of Unionville went to be with the Lord and her youngest son on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. She passed away at home, surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 30, 1951, in Alexandria, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her youngest son, John D. Martin III.
She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, John D. Martin Jr.; two sons, Robert Epps of Orange County and Carl Alexander of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Vickie Epps and her niece, Heather Epps, both of Unionville; three grandsons; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mrs. Martin was the Virginia state president of the Order of Southern Gray, and a member of the Lucy Ann Cox Chapter, Order of Southern Gray, Fredericksburg. Mrs. Martin was also an associate member of the Matthew Fontaine Maury Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Martin officiating.
Following the service, she will be buried with full honors in Oakwood Cemetery, Unionville.
