Sen. Mark Warner will hold his first public town hall meeting on health care in Fredericksburg tonight. Warner's event will be at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. It runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Warner's staff is asking people to RSVP online at warner.sen ate.gov/public/.in dex.cfm?p=townhall, but warn that RSVPing is not a guarantee of admittance, and suggests people get there early. Warner has held two telephone town halls and held other meetings with constituents to talk about federal health care reform. The Fredericksburg event, however, is the first in-person town hall held by either of Virginia's senators. The expo center can accommodate 3,000. --Chelyen Davis
There is no such provision in the stimulus bill. The panel is set up just like those of private insurance companies to recommend what should be covered. The panel will not use age or one's health condition to determine if it is covered. If I'm wrong, please show us in the stimulus bill where it is written now into law.
Insurance industry and a separate one from AIG. Think he
really cares whether or not the insurance companies are
reformed?
which was released the day before the vote and a 300
page addendum added at 3 A M. The stimulus bill allocates
funds for the creation of the panel who set standards for
who will get which procedure based on their age and health
condition. Many voters believe this was removed from the
proposed health care bill but sadly it is already law. Warner
is also in favor of cap and trade which will guarantee
skyrocketing electric bills. Obama is on video tape saying
exactly that.
No comments? This should be an interesting event. Warner
was a reasonable person as Governor so I look forward to his
take on the health care issue. How far has he left the
moderate position he used to maintain?
