ACORN voter fraud, misspent taxpayers' money: What next?
ACORN voter fraud, misspent taxpayers' money: What next?
Date published: 9/25/2009

Billions of our tax dollars are going to corrupt organizations, and our Democratic Senators Warner and Webb are doing nothing to stop it. Where is the outrage?

I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I am a Libertarian, and now I know why. Has the Democratic Party become the party of corruption?

ACORN, an organization that our president was the legal representative for, has received $53 million in taxpayers' money and could receive as much as $8.5 billion more under the Democratic stimulus package.

Videotape evidence shows employees of ACORN counseling people to engage in prostitution and import underage girls from other countries for prostitution and tax evasion. This is the same ACORN that is under investigation in 14 states for voter registration fraud. About 300 ACORN employees have been convicted of voter registration fraud.

I urge all Virginians, regardless of political affiliation, to write to Sens. Warner and Webb and demand a full investigation to ensure that not a dime of taxpayers' money is given to any organization that participates in un-American and criminal behavior.

In my opinion, if Sens. Warner and Webb do not do this, they are guilty of the crime of accessory after the fact.

SSDM, there are lots of organizations (posted by Ron_C , Sep. 26, 2009 11:54 pm)    0 likes
that have done much to help out folks in need, that haven't been videotaped offering to help someone to smuggle underage girls across the border to get a brothel up and running. I don't see any need for tax dollars to go toward an organization that plays partisan politics, and has front line employees advising how to break the law. There are much more worthy groups being turned down for funds.

ACORN isn't all bad. (posted by ssdm , Sep. 26, 2009 8:21 pm)    0 likes
There's 400,000 of them trying to help the middle and lower classes. They've done much for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They're an advocate for the downtrodden much like organized religious groups.. With all the money thrown around by the rich and powerful to get favors from Congress, it's good to know there are folks looking out for the little guys, too. (Like AARP is an advocate for 50 plus group.)

Mandrake, could you provide us a source/story (posted by sacha , Sep. 26, 2009 9:03 am)    0 likes
...for your post at 8:29 pm 9/25, so we could all look at the allegations and decide for ourselves whether the ALLEGATIONS might have merit? By doing that, it demonstrates credibility.

so test, what (posted by True_Bob , Sep. 26, 2009 7:46 am)    0 likes
do you think of Obama saying there should be an investigation? Of course, you are jaded against our president, so you'll excuse it as some nonsense. Do you ever apply that skepticism to the right?

can we stop being born yesterday ? (posted by testexam , Sep. 25, 2009 10:53 pm)    0 likes
"... because the DoJ is supposed to stay independent." - - - Riiiiiight. is that why they're "appointed" by the sitting Pres? cos they dont "apply" for the job. Obama picks those who share his views.. "That's why he didn't order Holder to back off investigating American torturers.. " -- obama + Dems didnt stop it cos they want it.. Dems stopped Richardson investigation for "pay-to-play" and halted other Dems + Liberal investigations for corruption just to pursue Repubs minor offenses like "you lie"

What do you think?
