Irene R. Nefos
Irene Rose Nefos, 79, died suddenly and entered heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Nefos. Survivors include her husband, Stanley A. Nefos of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Susan Bromaghim and her husband, Skip, of Fredericksburg and Rosemary Bronder of Fredericksburg; her brother, Dr. William Ploumis and his wife, Eleni, of New York; her sister, Mary Arnold of Florida; four granddaughters, Alexis Bronder, Ashton Bronder, Kristen Bromaghim, and Reanna McCall; two great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Greek Orthodox Church Nativity of the Theotokos, with the Rev. John Katsoulis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408.
