Elizabeth Fargo
Elizabeth Gene Stecher "Libby" Fargo, 53, of Ruckersville died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at the Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 13, 1956, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to William and Audrey Stecher of Fredericksburg. Libby was a devoted preschool teacher for 20 years, and was a member of the National Education Association and the Gold Star Mothers of America. She enjoyed arranging artificial flowers, scrapbooking and reading, and she had a love of shopping, especially for shoes! She will be remembered as a great wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of more than 31 years, Douglas A. Fargo; two children, Jason Douglas Fargo of Atlanta, Ga., and Sarah Elizabeth Fargo of Richmond; two brothers, Thomas Stecher of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rodney Stecher of Fredericksburg; as well as aunts, uncles, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son U.S. Army Cpl. Adam Joseph Fargo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Holder officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery (New).
