A day for charity was clouded by phone theft
I participated in a United Way yard sale at the Stafford Courthouse on Sept. 19. It was for a good cause, and I needed to make some Christmas money. Everyone was friendly and pleasant; many buyers were shopping for some deals. My daughter had a T-Mobile Sidekick for sale, new in the box. A few people took it out, looked at it, and put it back. Later in the day, someone else went to look at it and looked surprised, telling me there was no phone in the box. I told my daughter what had happened, and she said she felt sick to her stomach that someone would steal something from us. A good day for charity and good people went a little sour. I truly hope the person who took the cell phone enjoys it every time he or she uses it and remembers that it was not purchased, it was taken from someone else. Mary Shifflett Stafford

maker. Of course you will need to prove to them that you
purchased it or it was donated or something.
