Robert J. Breimann Sr.
Robert Julius Breimann Sr., 80, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Breimann was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, as well as a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania Military College. Mr. Breimann retired as the director of data processing for the city of Alexandria after 20 years of service. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan, a foreign-stamp collector, and an avid Civil War buff. Survivors include his devoted wife of 56 years, Carole Breimann; two sons, Kevin Breimann Sr. and his wife, Amy, of Leesburg and Robert Breimann Jr. of Elk Garden; one daughter, Kathleen Pendleton of Richmond; five grandchildren, Carlie Pendleton, Kate Breimann, Hannah Spannbauer, Kevin Breimann Jr. and Robert Breimann III; his brother, Richard Breimann of Manchester, N.J.; his sister, Susan Charlesworth of Aiken, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Bob will be greatly missed by his loving family and numerous friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408, with a rosary beginning at 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Confederate Cemetery at Spotsylvania Courthouse.
