Margaret W. Walker

Margaret W. Walker, 87, of Dahlgren passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. She was the widow of John H. Walker Jr. and also was preceded in death by her sister, Francis W. Grubbs of Richmond.

Originally from Chesterfield County, Margaret graduated from Mary Washington College in 1942. She then worked at the Naval Proving Ground in Dahlgren for 10 years as a mathematician before devoting her time to her family. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and her interests included gardening, genealogy and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Walker Pillis of King George County; two sons, Gregory K. Walker of Beltsville, Md., and John H. Walker III of Chesapeake; and three grandchildren, John IV, Devin and Vicky.

Burial will be private.
