Vote Snellings to be better off in Hartwood
Gary Snellings will be good for Stafford residents, whether they own a small business or a home. When I was running for the Republican nomination in the Hartwood District, people told me they were worried about higher taxes on small business and homeowners. Gary is committed to lowering that tax burden. Now Supervisor Joe Brito is speaking about the BPOL tax as if it will keep taxes on homeowners low. It is not an "either-or" situation. Just because this board's majority has spiked taxes on business doesn't make them any less likely to do the same to our homeowners. Are we better off in Hartwood now than we were four years ago? After four years of Joe Brito, I have to say no. These are two of the many reasons I support Gary Snellings for Hartwood District supervisor. I'm asking those who were kind enough to donate, volunteer, and support me in the June primary to stand united behind Mr. Snellings to help turn our Board of Supervisors around. Tim Dwight Stafford
Please don't tell me you are taking the side of not spending money on an election. These candidates spend what comes in, simply as that. And secondly, there are a ton more lawsuits now with the current majority (Brito included) than there ever were about 6 years ago.
MisterB, a cost of living increase is not a pay raise. That is to simply overcome natural inflation. I'm no Economist like Bob Woodson, but even I know that.
All Republican candidates in Stafford (including Osborn) are money candidates (builders & developers support!). Check out all the money they are spending in signs, lit, etc. Republicans have promised to repeal the business tax that relieves a tremendous financial burden on the average Stafford citizen. The Republican voting records on the Stafford Board, cause needless lawsuits. Voting Republican = no longer having a Supervisor who represents the people, but instead builders and developers.
Bush. He already held the position and didn't do squat. Also, I don't equate a WalMart as something I would base my vote on, even if Brito had something to do with it. And what road improvements on 17? More lights by the WalMart? Come on!
Brito voted against the 2006 road bonds that were defeated by the voters, not road funding. The Board voted in June 2007 for a 3% annual cost of living increase since the last last pay raise vote in June 2000. The vote increased the Boards pay to $25,000 a year to take effect January 1 2008. Stafford County teachers and employees received a pay raise in July 2007 before the Board's pay raise took effect.
Hpdomi, if you are this supportive of Brito you have to know that the Walmart process began well before he was ever on the board. You have to know that Brito voted against road funding, The only thing Brito votes for is a pay increase for himself while all of our great teachers aren't getting a raise or simply getting fired!
