Symposium topic will be being healthy after cancer

Staying healthy after cancer is the topic of the next Cancer Survivor Symposium at Mary Washington Hospital.

The session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium. The program will include discussion on healthy eating, bone health, the use of vitamins and the value of exercise.

Speakers will include Dr. Charles Maurer, a Fredericksburg oncologist; Christa Baxter, registered dietician; and Melissa Eagleton, physical therapist.

The program is free and open to the public. It is intended for cancer patients in active treatment, cancer survivors and their families.

This is the fourth in a series of programs in the symposium. It is sponsored by the Mary Washington Regional Cancer Center. For more information, call 540/741-7765.
